Part of a series of Forums for carers providing ‘all kinds of short
breaks’ for disabled children and young people especially those on the
autistic spectrum. The Forum will start with a talk by Sandy. It will be
informally led with plenty of opportunities for participants to ask
questions and for advice as well as sharing their own experiences with Sandy
and each other.
The Wales Carers Network and Autism Academy was launched in April 2009 and
is run by Shared Care Network Cyrmu. The Carers' Network aims to provide
short break carers with information and advice and a chance to share their
experiences of being a short break carer. The Autism Academy offers
additional support for all short break carers; family link carers, contract
carers, befrienders, sitters - or any similar role - who already look after
a child or young person with autism or a related disorder such as Asperger's
Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder or social, emotional and
behavioural disorders. Shared Care Network is the UK Short breaks Charity.
Shared Care Network Cymru supports all those involved in providing short
breaks to disabled children and young people in Wales through regular
training, forums, conferences and information bulletins.
